11 hurt in J&K grenade attack

Eleven persons were injured in a grenade explosion at Handwara, 80 km north of Srinagar.

Militants hurled a grenade at a passing paramilitary Border Security Force vehicle at the main market in Handwara, which missed the target and exploded on the road injuring 11 civilian passers by.

The injured were taken to the hospital where attending doctors referred three seriously injured to Srinagar for specialised treatment.

The market place was searched by security forces after the blast.
