India failed in Nepal: BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party President Rajnath Singh has said that India failed to take timely steps in Nepal, which is witnessing an agitation for restoration of democracy.

He also expressed concern over growing Chinese influence in Nepal through Maoists and wanted the Centre to remain vigilant about growing Maoist activities.

Talking to reporters on Sunday evening after his 'Rath Yatra' reached Kashipur, Singh was critical of the 'growing influence' of the Left parties on the country's foreign policy.

On infliltration from Bangladesh, he wanted a law to be enacted to identify and deport illegal immigrants from that country.

Singh was also critical of the Congress government in Uttaranchal, which, he alleged, failed to develop infrastructure facilities for tourist and religious tourist places.
