Former Pattali Makkal Katchi legislator S K Murugavelrajan who joined All India Anna Dravid Munetra Kazhagam and when he was denied a party ticket, floated a new party, would be contesting against AIADMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa from Andipatti constituency.

Speaking to reporters in Madurai on Monday, he said that he has been "underestimated by Jayalalithaa" and he was contesting against her only to prove his might.

Murugavelrajan would also be contesting in Samayanallur. Murugavelrajan, who floated People's Liberation Party after quitting AIADMK recently, also said that he had formed a third front -- Social Justice Front -- jointly with Athi Tamizhar Jananayaka Munnani (Early Tamils' Democratic Front) and Vanjikkapatta Samukangalin Kootamaipu (Betrayed Communities' Federation) Murugavelrajan said that talks with the Samajvadi party for an alliance was almost over and final round of talks would be held in Chennai on Tuesday.

If the talks turned successful, the front would contest in Samajwadi's 'cycle symbol'. He alleged both the DMK and AIADMK were favouring only a section of the people and others belonging to "majority communities" were not represented in the assembly.
