The dispute over missing border pillars along the international border between India and Pakistan will be taken up during the bi-annual Border Security Force rangers' meet to be held in Lahore in the second week of April, S C Vaid, BSF inspector general, Jammu frontier told reporters Saturday.

Vaid, who has recently taken over as the Jammu frontier IG, said the issue was an old one and needed to be sorted out amicably with the Pakistani counterparts during the meet.

The issue was raised earlier also from time to time during Indo-Pak border guard conferences, he said.

"There are 36 border pillars missing along the international border due to flood in riverine area in Jammu sector," he said.

Commenting on the relation between the troops of the two sides, he said the ties were very cordial and good and there were no untoward incidents reported from anywhere along the border line during 2005.
