Janata Dal (United), on Monday, held a fresh round of seat-sharing talks with its National Democratic Alliance partner, Bharatiya Janata Party, for the Bihar Assembly elections but was yet to come out with the list of seats it would contest.

Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley, who is the party's incharge for Bihar, met JD(U) Parliamentary Board chairman Sharad Yadav and discussed the issue.

Sources said the delay in resolving the dispute over certain seats was because of difficulty in accommodating some former Lok Janshakti Party members of legislative assembly, who had joined JD(U) and had been promised tickets this time.

BJP sources said talks were underway on 'exchanging' seats between the two NDA allies. Meanwhile, JD(U) spokesman Shambhu Srivastwa said that there was 'certainly a forward movement' in the talks with BJP and 'we hope to come out with our list soon'.

The BJP has stolen a march over the JD(U) by announcing its first list of 80 candidates. The BJP intends to contest 105 seats leaving 138 for JD(U) in the 243-member House.
