A major fire broke out on Saturday in a multi-storied commercial building in Connaught Place area of the national capital New Delhi.

The fire broke out in the ninth floor of 'Himalaya House' on Kasturba Gandhi Marg at around 10:45 am, fire department said.

About 20 fire tenders were sent to douse the flames, it said.

The building houses offices of banks and scores of private companies.
