The Boeing 737 of Air Sahara, which had overshot the main runway, disrupting normal functioning of Mumbai airport since Sunday night, was moved from the soft land and towed to a parking bay early on Thursday, airport sources said.

The towing operation commenced on Wednesday evening and lasted till 7.50 am Thursday, the sources said.

The aircraft is now in a parking bay on the main runway and will be towed to a hanger shortly, they added. The flight operations at the airport will normalise after instrument landing system was recaliberated, they said.

The aircraft had overshot the runway while landing and was stuck in the soft land, disrupting normal functioning at the airport for the last three days.

Meanwhile, the main runway has been made serviceable and available for flight operations, the sources said.

Director General of Civil Aviation is probing the grounding incident of Air Sahara Boeing, which resulted in closure of main runway for a long time, the sources said.
