Eight residents of Pakistan-occupied Kashmiri capital Muzzaffarabad, including four women, who came to Jammu and Kashmir just two days before the killer quake, Thursday crossed over into Pakistan from this border post in Punjab.

The eight crossed the Joint Check Point at the International Border in Wagah after completion of their verification formalities in the afternoon.

The government has allowed these residents from PoK who came with special permits on the Karavan-e-Aman bus to go back via Wagah in the wake of indefinite postponement of the bus service due to blockades on the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road after the quake.

Among the residents was Raja Mohd Rajwan, who lost his wife to the tremblor in Muzzafarabad, Mirza Raja Mian, Zaffar Hussain Mirza, Zaved Iqbal Khwaja and four women  -- Shakina Mit, Misra Begum, Habla Begum and Jaleeka Kanth.

Some Indians who had gone to PoK by the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus are also expected to return through Wagah.

The eight persons arrived Thursday morning from Srinagar via Jammu after they  were forced to take the circuitous route in the wake of the earthquake.
