Filmmaker appeals to Golu's abductors

Noted film director Prakash Jha has appealed to the abductors of Gaurav Kumar alias Golu, who was abducted on September 20, to released the school kid immediately.

Jha, who visited Golu's house in Patna to console the child's parents, extended his support to them and assured all possible help in tracing him.

Nine-year-old Gaurav Kumar, a student of the class 4 of a school in Danapur, was abducted while on his way back home after getting off the school bus.

"If the kidnappers had any problems or grievances, I am willing to give them a patient hearing," Jha said after urging Gaurav's abductors to understand the pain and mental agony, the family was going through, and appealed to them to immediately release the boy.

Jha, whose forthcoming film -- Apaharan (Abduction) -- is woven around the kidnapping of two children, said due to rampant unemployment and collapse of law and order machinery, some misguided youths had taken to kidnapping.

He alleged that Golu's abduction indicated that many persons, including politicians and those from every section of theĀ  society, are involved in the kidnapping, which has "taken a shape of industry."
