Two more persons allegedly involved in the the rape of a Dalit woman at a temple complex, run by the Rajasthan government in Jodhpur, have been arrested, a senior police official said.
With the arrest of Anil and Shankar on Monday, the number of those arrested in connection with the incident has risen to four, the Superintendent of Police (Jodhpur) Ravi Prakash Mehrada told PTI over phone.
The accused, including Guddu and Manoj who were arrested on Sunday, have confessed their involvement in the crime, he said.
One Ramesh Meghwal, who was said to be known to the woman and allegedly lured her to the deserted place of the temple, was still untraceable, the SP said.
A watchman's son Dinesh, who was also rounded up on Sunday, has become the police witness in the case, the SP added.
While three of the accused belonged to the Ghoron-ka-Chowk locality in the walled city, Shankar is a resident of Bhadasia area, he said.
The woman, who belonged to Bheel community and was living in Haddi-Bheel locality of Basni on the outskirts of Jodhpur, was allegedly gangraped by the accused in the Ranchoreji temple run by Devesthan department on Saturday.
The woman was living alone for the last two years as she was separated from her husband. The victim was married in her childhood and her husband had left her two years ago.
