The Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday grilled underworld don Abu Salem's girlfriend Monica Bedi, who was brought to Hyderabad on a transit remand.

Sleuths questioned Bedi in connection with a passport forgery case, sources said.

Bedi, a former Bollywood starlet extradited from Portugal on Friday along with the gangster, was flown to the city last night by an Indian Airlines flight from Mumbai.

Tight security arrangements were made at the CBI office at Koti area where she spent the night, the sources added.

Bedi, who had secured passport from Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh in 2001 under a fictitious name and address, will be produced at the residence of judge of the special court for CBI cases at Secunderabad later on Saturday.

Bedi has been booked under Sections 420, 471 and 468 of the Indian Penal Code, 13(2) to be read with 13 (1d) of the PC Act and 12 (1B) of Passport Act.
