Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived in Dhaka on Friday to attend the 13th SAARC summit beginning on Saturday.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia was present at the Zia-ur Rehman International Aiport, where Dr Singh was accorded a ceremonial reception.
Before embarking on the three-day visit, Dr Singh said in New Delhi that he hoped the initiatives to be taken at the Summit would contribute significantly towards realising the enormous potential for economic, social and cultural cooperation in the seven-nation grouping.
