Three persons have died in different rain related incidents in Nagapattinam.
In the first incident, a 51-year-old woman was struck dead by lightning while working in a paddy field at her village in Vedaranyam taluk Friday, police said.
A 45-year-old man was washed away while taking a bath in a swollen branch canal of the Coleroon river, while a ninth standard student from Thanjavur was electrocuted at Arundhavapuvalum village when he came into contact with a snapped live wire while walking on the road, they said.
Nagapattinam district has experienced good rainfall since Friday.
