A special court on Tuesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants against former Patna district magistrate Gautam Goswami and eight others in connection with a multi-crore flood-relief scam in Bihar.
The court also ordered that residences of the accused be searched and Goswami's passport be impounded.
The warrants of arrest against the rest of the 14 accused, excluding the five who were arrested on Saturday and remanded to judicial custody, were likely to be obtained in a day or two, sources said.
The Vigilance Bureau had on Monday alerted international and domestic airports and immigration check-posts across the country to prevent Goswami and two others accused in the case from leaving the country.
Bihar police had also requested its Uttar Pradesh counterparts to assist its vigilance team in locating and arresting Goswami.
