With the tiger population showing a sharp decline, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will visit the Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan and speak to forest department officials there.
Dr Singh will meet Rajasthan forest officials at Sawai Madhopur on May 23, official sources said on Tuesday.
Dr Singh is also scheduled to meet the director of the Ranthambore National Park and discuss the tiger census exercise, now underway.
The prime minister will spend the night at Ranthambore and return to Delhi via Jaipur the next day, sources said.
In Jaipur, Dr Singh will dedicate to the nation a newly constructed six-lane national highway between Jaipur and Kishangarh.
