Quake measuring 6.3 hits Sumatra

An earthquake measuring 6.3 on Richter scale struck the coast of Indonesia's Sumatra island on Thursday, reports said.

No casualties have been reported.

The quake, which occurred about 31 km underground, was in the same region as Monday night's quake that killed more than 1,000 people.

No tsunami warning has been issued.
