Security agencies in Kashmir have chalked out a two-pronged strategy to foil any militant attempt to sabotage the resumption of bus service on the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad route.

"We are strengthening the security on vital installations and increasing patrolling," official sources said on Tuesday.

The army and police have installed seven additional checkposts on the 45 km Baramulla-Uri road.

Security is being reviewed on a daily basis to identify and plug any loopholes.

"We are leaving nothing to chance. We have taken all precautionary measures to keep the ultras at bay," the officials said.

Army Chief General Joginder Jaswant Singh on Monday said an army escort would be provided to the bus to foil any militant attempt.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will flag off the first bus on April 7.
