Senior government officials on Tuesday said they were ignorant of former Pakistan prime minister Benazir Bhutto's visit to India.

Benazir, along with her husband Asif Zardari, is visiting the shrine of a Sufi saint in Ajmer Sharif, a news report in a leading national daily said.

Zardari was recently released from a Pakistan prison after spending several years in imprisonment and had rejoined his wife Benazir in Dubai.

News of the visit has created a flutter in the political and official

circles.

"We have no knowledge about the said visit because it is a private visit," a senior government official told rediff.com on Tuesday.

Even the officials in Pakistan high commission in New Delhi expressed ignorance about it.

But the report said Benazir would be meeting senior political leaders and government officials during her stay in New Delhi, after she pays her homage at the 'Durgah of Garib nawaz' in Ajmer.
