Actor-turned-politician Govinda is upset with a newspaper report that said his name also figured in India TV's casting couch exposes.

The report appeared in Mumbai Hindi eveninger Mahanagar.

Congress corporator from Goregaon Sameer Desai said, "It's an insult to our member of Parliament. Mahanagar should prove what they published or apologise to Govinda".

Govinda's supporters have decided to take a protest march to the newspaper's office in Matunga on Monday.

Mahanagar editor Nikhil Wagle told rediff.com, "Our news was based on a source in India TV. We tried to get Govinda's clarification but he avoided the question during a press conference on Friday. He can clarify his stand on the issue or he is free to go to court against our report."

Govinda, brush up your neta act!

Though office-bearers and party workers of Govinda's constituency, Mumbai-north, are not happy with his functioning, they decided to support him in his hour of need.

Most office-bearers and workers have decided to participate in Monday's protest under the leadership of Congress district president, Mumbai-north, Ratna Pillai.
