The Supreme Court on Thursday allowed Rashtriya Janata Dal's tainted member of Parliament Pappu Yadav to take oath as member of the Lok Sabha on March 21.

The court also directed the Directorate General of Health Services to depute a doctor to Tihar jail to conduct medical check on Yadav. It asked jail authorities to take appropriate steps in case the physician suggests any treatment.

The court, however, rejected Yadav's plea to visit his Madhepura constituency in Bihar for two days after taking oath.

Pappu Yadav, an accused of killing Left leader Ajit Sarkar, was shifted from Beur jail in Patna to Delhi's Tihar jail on February 19 following an SC directive.
