Film actor Saif Ali Khan on Tuesday said he was in touch with his father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, who is facing arrest in the black buck hunting case and asserted he was not on the run.
"It would be wrong to say that the police is looking for him. He has been given time till day after tomorrow (June 16). Paperwork is on and conversations are on," Saif Ali Khan told NDTV.
Asked whether the entire poaching controversy was blown out of proportion, he said, "No sir, news is news. Media does its job. We do our job. As long as the truth comes out and justice is done... that is what we are interested in."
The actor refused to comment any further on the issue but said he was concerned about his father.
Earlier in the day, the Punjab and Haryana high court issued a notice to Haryana government directing it to produce all documents pertaining to the poaching case before it on Friday and refused to grant interim bail to the former Indian cricket captain.
Pataudi and seven others have been booked under various sections of the Wildlife Protection Act for allegedly hunting endangered animals near Jhajjar in Haryana on June 3. If found guilty, they face imprisonment upto seven years and a fine of Rs 25,000.
