Senior Janata Dal-United leader Nitish Kumar on Wednesday threatened to review his party's ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party if the party accepted Lal Kishenchand Advani's resignation as party president.

Advani resigned on Tuesday after the hue and cry made by RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal over his remarks in last week visit to Pakistan that Pakistan founder M A Jinnah was a secular leader.

The JD-U is one of the key allies of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and Nitish Kumar is considered to be close to Advani.

Nitish Kumar said that Advani's remarks were true and there was nothing objectionable in what he said.
