Veteran journalist and Editor-in-Chief of the leading English daily, The Statesman, C R Irani, died at Kolkata on Saturday.
He was 75. Irani, who is survived by his wife and three daughters, had been admitted to the R N Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences 18 days ago following some complications.
His condition deteriorated suddenly a few days ago and he expired on Saturday afternoon, doctors attending on him said.
