Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and US president George W Bush shake hands for a photo-opportunity at the White House going into their summit meeting July 18 in Washington.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Bush said that "We meet as leaders of two great democracies committed to working together, for a better and safer world. "
