Bihar Governor Buta Singh on Friday refuted charges of corruption levelled against him by National Democratic Alliance convenor George Fernandes, saying the Janata Dal-United leader was making 'all sorts of statements with an eye on the election'.

"It is old habit of Fernandes to make all sorts of statements with an eye on the election. I don't want to react to these wild allegations," said Singh.

Fernandes, while addressing a rally at Muzaffarpur as part of his Nyay Yatra on Thursday, had described the Raj Bhavan as 'the den of corruption' and sought immediate sacking of the governor.

Claiming that he had evidence to prove his charge, Fernandes had said, "The governor is misusing Raj Bhavan for spinning money through illegal means. The president should immediately remove him."
