Former Rashtriya Janata Dal member of legislative assembly and the party's nominee from Hayaghat constituency for the February polls, Harinandan Yadav, was on Thursday arrested in Darbhanga in connection with a criminal case when he turned up to file his nomination papers, a senior police official said.

Yadav was arrested at the office of the sub-divisional magistrate Badood Ahmed.

A non-bailable arrest warrant was pending against Yadav for having led a mob to breach an embankment during the 2002 floods in
