Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Tuesday voiced her support to the Congress on the dismissal of the Manohar Parrikar government in Goa.

"I am surprised that the Bhartiya Janata Party is calling the Parrikar dismissal a murder of democracy," she told media persons.

Mayawati cited the example of when Atal Bihari Vajpayee had dismissed her government in UP and installed the BJP government in 1997.

She added, "Today Vajpayee might object to what happened in Goa but they have conveniently forgotten what they did in 1997."

"If it's legitimate for BJP to do what they pleased then why blame the Congress now?" asked the BSP chief.

She also pressed for a Centreal Bureau of Investigation to probe into the murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal.

"If Mulayam Singh Yadav fails to order a CBI probe by March 20, we will launch a state-wide protest," Mayawati said.
