The Rashtriya Janata Dal has demanded an immediate ban on exit polls, terming it as nothing but a lucrative business and a marketing strategy.
Party spokesman Motiurrahman said the request had nothing to do with the fact that the RJD was projected poorly in the exit polls conducted after the first phase of elections in Bihar.
"RJD has been winning elections despite being projected poorly in exit polls always," he said.
Motiurrahman told media persons on Monday that the poll method was unscientific and rigged.
He said, "Exit polls have become some kind of marketing strategy. People are willing to pay a lot of money to project their parties in a good light; but in the end only the party with the people's support wins."
