The Rashtriya Janata Dal member of Parliament from Madhepura, Pappu Yadav, on Tuesday resigned from the party's parliamentary board citing differences with RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Party sources said the jailed MP was unhappy over his men being denied party tickets for the forthcoming assembly polls in the state.

Pappu Yadav, lodged in Beur jail in connection with the murder of Communist Party of India (Marxist)

leader Ajit Sarkar, said he felt used by the RJD.

Pappu Yadav last year won the Madhepura Lok Sabha constituency in a by-election on an RJD ticket.

Before joining the RJD, Pappu Yadav was with the Ramvilas Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party.
