IA plane makes emergency landing at New Delhi

An Indian Airlines plane with 87 passengers on board on Saturday made a landing under emergency conditions at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. The pilot detected a technical fault soon after take off.

The plane IC 940, took off for Hyderabad at around 7 AM. Soon the pilot detected a hydraulic problem and asked for an emergency landing at the airport, police sources said.

Full emergency was declared at the airport. Fire tenders and ambulances were rushed to the tarmac to meet any eventuality. The plane landed safely at around 7.30 AM. The passengers were later flown to Hyderabad on another aircraft.
