Lankan foreign minister in India

Sri Lanka's new Foreign Minister Anura Bandaranaike arrived at New Delhi on a two-day visit for talks with Indian leaders on bilateral ties as also brief them on the trouble-hit peace process with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.

Bandaranaike, President chandrika Kumaratunga's brother, took charge following the assassination of Lakshman Kadirgamar by suspected Tamil terrorists.

The Indian government

had invited Bandaranaike to visit the country.

He will hold discussions with External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh.

He is also likely to call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The minister will share Colombo's assessment of the post-assassination situation, the status of the ceasefire agreement between Colombo and the LTTE as also the future of the peace process.
