Sri Lankan Estate Housing Infrastructure Minister Muthu Sivalingam has said that assassination of the country's foreign minister Lakshman Kadirgamar, would not derail the peace process.
"In fact, the present situation has deepened the urgency for resumption of talks between the government and the Liberation of Tamil Tigers Eelam," he told reporters at Chennai airport on Tuesday night while on his way to Hyderabad.
Replying to a question whether Kadirgamar's murder would affect the peace process, the Sri Lankan minister said the talks would continue. On suspicion of LTTE being behind the killing, he said the assassination of Kadirgamar was being probed and hence, it would not be proper to comment on it.
