The central government will table the report of the Nanavati Commission, which probed the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Delhi, in Parliament during the ongoing monsoon session after the Union Cabinet's clearance, Home Minister Shivraj Patil said in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

'The report given by the Nanavati Commission has been examined by the home ministry. We have prepared an action taken report on it which is before the Cabinet. In a day or two, it will be cleared (by the Cabinet),' he said during zero hour.

Patil made these remarks after Bharatiya Janata Party members led by Balbir Punj waved a newspaper report on the findings of the commission and demanded the tabling of the report during the current session.

The Nanavati Commission had presented its report to the home minister in February this year and the six-month period for placing it in Parliament expires on September 9.
