CCS meets to discuss Musharraf visit

The Cabinet Committee on Security on Saturday discussed the issues that are likely to figure during talks between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.

Musharraf will arrive in Delhi on Saturday evening on a three-day visit.

Apart from watching the last match between India and Pakistan in the ongoing cricket series at the Firozeshah Kotla ground in New Delhi, Musharraf will hold a series of meetings with top Indian leaders.

Emerging from the hour-long CCS meeting chaired by the prime minister, Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee told reporters that all subjects that are likely to figure during Musharraf's talks

with Dr Singh and other leaders were taken up at the meeting.

He, however, declined to elaborate.

Besides the defence minister, others present at the meeting were Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh, National Security Adviser M K Narayanan and Army Chief General J J Singh.

Singh is hosting a dinner for Musharraf, soon after the latter's arrival in Delhi from Ajmer in Rajasthan.

Musharraf and his wife will pray at Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti's dargah in Ajmer before the general starts his official visit.
