Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would visit Jammu and Kashmir on November 17, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said in Srinagar on Saturday.
"The prime minister is keen to visit Jammu and Kashmir and announce a package for the state," he said addressing a joint meeting of Peoples Democratic Party office bearers, ministers, legislators and district presidents. The state government has identified some areas for central assistance.
Sayeed said the prime minister would be accorded a civic reception and asked people to participate in huge numbers.
