Twenty-one people were injured when terrorists lobbed a grenade in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, sources said.

The terrorists hurled the grenade towards security personnel patrolling the busy Shopian township, 52 km from Srinagar, around 1555 IST, but it missed the target, the sources said.

Five of the injured were referred to Srinagar for treatment and their condition was stated to be serious, they said.

The whole area has been cordoned off and a hunt has been launched to nab the terrorists.
