Brushing aside reports that he is on his way out, Pakistan Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Friday said he has neither resigned nor has anyone asked him to quit.
Jamali told reporters
in Islamabad that people should believe when the prime minister says something. "It is not proper that I issue clarifications every day," he said.
The News had reported on Friday that Jamali was likely to be replaced before July 3, the day when President Pervez Musharraf embarks on a tour of Scandinavian nations.
According to political analysts, Musharraf is unhappy with the 60 year-old prime minister's peformance.
