Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav suspended seven Railway Police Force personnel deployed on the Mumbai-Howrah Mail just hours after an armed gang stabbed and injured a passenger on the train and looted cash and valuables worth Rs 1.5 lakh in Kaimur district of Bihar early on Friday morning.
"Despite
seven RPF personnel on the train, the dacoity took place. I have ordered suspension of all of them [RPF personnel]," he said.
The minister said one dacoit boarded the train at Mughalsarai without a confirmed ticket and when the train stopped at the next station, he along with two others entered a three-tier sleeper coach and robbed the passengers.
