The
chief minister said a message should go to the perpetrators of such dastardly crimes.
"In this case, I am in favour of death sentence. I mean death by hanging," he told reporters in Kolkata.
The chief minister's statement came a day after the Communist Party of India (Marxist) secretary Anil Biswas called for evolving a consensus to ban death sentence by hanging.
