Twenty-one people, including a policeman, were injured in a grenade explosion in Bejinehara in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district, on Wednesday morning.

Militants had hurled the grenade on a passing security force vehicle in the main market at Bejibehara.

"The grenade missed the target and exploded on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, resulting in injuries to 21 people, who were taken to sub-district hospital Bejibehara," said a police officer.

Bejibehara is Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed's hometown.
