The main Republic Day function in Bihar on Monday got embroiled in a controversy following some remarks made by Governor M Rama Jois against the functioning of the state government.
The ruling Rashtriya Dal chief, Laloo Prasad Yadav, said he will complain to President A P J Abdul Kalam against the governor.
Addressing the gathering after unfurling the Tricolour at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna, Jois said a sense of insecurity has gripped the people of Bihar.
It is painful to learn from newspapers that people of other states are afraid of sending their children to Bihar, he said.
Jois called upon all those entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining law and order to discharge their duties without any fear or bias to change the situation and re-establish the atmosphere of peace and security.
Angered by the governor's remarks, Laloo told reporters that he would soon meet the President to lodge a formal complaint against Jois for his "uncharitable" remarks.
He described the governor as being "part of the school of RSS and BJP."
