The final electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh are out and the Election Commission has deleted 64 lakh names.
"In every district, thousands of names have been deleted," EC sources said.
With the latest deletion, the voters' percentage has fallen to nearly 64 per cent, from the earlier 71
per cent, of the state's population.
The Andhra Pradesh assembly was dissolved in November last year.
An eight-member EC team had visited the state recently twice to scrutinise voters' lists following complaints from political parties about the presence of a large number of bogus voters.
The EC has not yet given any definite indication of when the polls will take place in the state.
