Claiming that the United States is facilitating the peace process between India and Pakistan, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference on Friday said its talks with Delhi next week will be a test of India's sincerity in solving the Kashmir imbroglio.
"We
will talk to the government and put forth our case. We have a strong case to plead for the resolution of Kashmir issue," former APHC chief, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, said at a Friday congregation in Srinagar.
The Mirwaiz is member of the team appointed by the APHC to hold talks with Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani later this month.
He said during his recent visit to Delhi, a high-level US delegation met him and informed him about Washington's efforts
to improve relations between India and Pakistan.
"I was shown a report on how the US will facilitate talks between India and Pakistan. And believe me, the process is
progressing exactly along those lines," the Mirwaiz said.
He said he was assured by the delegation that wishes and aspiration of the people of Kashmir will not be ignored.
Describing the recent developments as positive, he said the APHC-Centre talks are a chance to resolve the Kashmir issue with "honour and dignity and put an end to the bloodshed in the state."
