Tata Institute of Social Sciences courses
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences, a deemed university and a pioneer institution for imparting human service professional education, announces admission to the following academic programmes 2004-2006:
1. MA in Social Work: available specializations: i. Criminology and Correctional Administration, ii. Family and Child Welfare, iii. Medical and Psychiatric Social Work, iv. Social Welfare Administration, and v. Urban and Rural Community Development.
2. MA in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations
Eligibility: A Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent from a recognized university in
i. Arts/Commerce/Medicine/Law/Nursing with a minimum aggregate marks of 50% (40% for SC/ST) or the equivalent grade; ii. Science/Engineering with a minimum aggregate marks of 55% (45% for SC/ST) of the equivalent grade.
For programmes 1 and 2: Applicants who complete their final year Bachelor's degree examinations by June 27, 2004 will also be eligible to apply provided they have obtained the minimum percentage of marks specified under eligibility, in their first and second year examinations together, if the degree is of three years duration and the first, second and third year examinations together, if the degree is of four years duration.
3. Master of health administration
4. Master of hospital administration
Eligibility: A Bachelor's degree in any faculty with a minimum aggregate marks of 50% (40% for SC/ST) for all programmes. However, for programme 2, science/engineering degree with a minimum aggregate marks of 55% (45% for SC/ST) required.
Applicants who complete their final year Bachelor's degree examinations by June 27, 2004 will be eligible to apply for programmes 1 and 2

Reservations:
i. 15 % and 7.5% of seats for SC/ST candidates respectively. Free application forms will be provided on production of copies of valid caste/tribe certificate and income certificate.
ii. 3% seats for persons with disability of which 1% each is reserved for a. Low Vision/ Blindness b. Hearing impairment and c. Locomotor Disability/Celebral Palsy.
iii. 15% of supernumerary seats reserved for foreign nationals
Last date for receipt of completed applications at the Institute: January 30, 2004
There are limited seats for men and women students at TISS hostels.
The tests and interviews will be held in June 2004 at the Institute only.
The Institute also announces admission to its one semester Certificate Course in Social Welfare Administration.
