The toll in the cold wave in Madhya Pradesh touched 13 on Friday, as chilly winds continued to sweep the state despite marginal rise in day temperature.

One person died at Mohanpur village in Vidisha district. He was sleeping outside a hospital where his sister had been admitted, a report said.

Twelve cold-related deaths had earlier been reported from the state.

The minimum temperature hovered around 6° Celsius in many parts of the state and Khajuraho, Gwalior and Satna were among the coldest places.

Thick fog continued to envelope many areas during the night and morning, affecting road and rail traffic.
