Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh on Friday filed an affidavit before the Liberhan Commission saying his charge against Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lal Kishenchand Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi of being part of a conspiracy to demolish the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya was made "out of anger".

Giving details of the security arrangements made by him as the then chief minister to protect the mosque, Singh said he was angered by the news reports that said the National Democratic Alliance government headed by Vajpayee had told the commission on June 20, 2003, that the state failed to protect the structure.

In his 28-page affidavit before the commission, which is probing into the circumstances leading to the demolition on December 6, 1992, Singh said, "This statement of the counsel for the central government was wrong and badly hurt the deponent (Singh)."

"In that reaction and anger, the deponent might have said before the media that there was a conspiracy between Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, etc…"

"The deponent (Singh) has no knowledge, information or evidence to support the above allegations. Actually the above statement was made in furious reaction and was not correct."
