Senior Akali Dal leader and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee chief Gurucharan Singh Tohra passed away in a private hospital in Delhi late on Wednesday night. He was 79.
The death came at 0041 IST after he suffered a heart attack at 0030
IST at the Escorts Heart Institute, the Hospital's Assistant Administrator Mathur Verma told PTI.
Tohra, who was in a serious condition after suffering a massive heart attack on Thursday, was flown to the national capital on Wednesday evening from Amritsar for advanced treatment.
