The Border Security Force has interrupted conversations between terrorists in which they were heard saying that they would target the families of those who tipped off the security forces about the presence of Jaish-e-Mohammed operations commander Ghazi Baba in a Srinagar house, a senior official said on Thursday.

"My informer is a Pakistani and his safety has been ensured," BSF Inspector General Vijay Raman said.

The BSF, he said, has created a "good intelligence base" in Pakistan, which is helping it in its anti-terrorist operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

Ghazi Baba, a prime accused in the December 2001 attack on Parliament, and three other terrorists were killed in an encounter in Srinagar's Noorbagh area on August 30.

A sophisticated two-inch closed circuit television camera, possibly of foreign-make, was found in the debris of the house, Raman said.

He said the CCTV helped Ghazi Baba track the movement of the BSF commandos who had cordoned off the house.

"The way one of our officers was hit by terrorist fire during the encounter in Noorbagh area could not have been possible unless the movements of our personnel were being closely watched," Raman said.

He said the debris could contain more such hi-tech gadgets.
