The famous dabbawallas of Mumbai, who deliver tiffins to lakhs of people in the city through an indigenous management system, are expected to receive a royal visitor next month -- Prince Charles.

Prince Charles, who will pay a three-day visit to Mumbai from November 1, is eager to see how the dabbawallas manage to reach the tiffins collected from various parts of the city to the right person seated in an office miles away.

The prince will be taken near Churchgate station to watch the dabbawallas in action, official sources said on Tuesday.

An official team of the prince held a meeting with Maharashtra government officials two weeks ago to chalk out the itinerary of the visitor.

The prince will also get a taste of Bollywood and watch shooting of the movie The Rising, the sources added.

The guest is expected to meet Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai and British actor Toby Stevens on the sets of the film, based on the 1857 mutiny.

Also on the itinerary is the commercial dockyard. The prince's other programmes include a seminar with IT experts and a meeting with businessmen.
