There has been no firing on the borders in Jammu and Kashmir and the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, that came into effect at midnight on Tuesday, is holding, a defence spokesman said.
Describing the situation on the International Border, the Line of Control and the Actual Ground Position Line in Jammu and Kashmir as 'quiet,' the spokesman said:
"If Pakistani troops resort to firing, then we will retaliate."
Welcoming the decision of ceasefire by Pakistan, he said the troops have also been directed to take all steps to prevent any kind of infiltration along the borders.
